Today in western civ we learned how the Ancient Rome government is similar in some ways to the US. When the United States was setting up their 1st Government they basted off of the ancient Romans government. We have the executive legislative and judicial.  We also talked a lot about the about the 10 Amendments. We talked about the death penalty and other amendments.

Today in class we were given the option to vote if we wanted to take the test tomorrow or not. The majority was to not have the test. Some people were upset about this but others were not. It would have definitely helped my grade but we did a different assignment instead for ten points. Philosophers

Today in Western Civ we finished taking notes on the power point. The notes today were about different Philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and  Aristotle. Socrates  looked to science and logic for explanations of how the world works. He started the socratic method which fostered critical thinking.  "The unexamined life into worth the living" was a famous quote of his. Socrates was charged with serious crimes, Disrespecting the Gods and corrupting the youth. He didn't deny what he had done. Instead, he asked for free meals for life instead. He was Sentenced to death by poison hemlock.  Plato wrote the apologia to Socrates' trial. He was a student and follower of socrates who wrote teachings and describes the trial in Apology.
