settlers

Today in class we took notes off of the powerpoint about the early stages of Rome. There are a few different stories on how Rome first started but there is one about two brothers, the children of Rhea Silvia (a she wolf) and Mars. They're names were Romulus and Remus. You can see "Rom" in Romulus. their story is recorded by many authors,  but is just a legend. One story is the Virgil who claims their birth and adventures were fated in order for Rome to be founded.  We learned that Etruscans came from north central part of a pennisula. Mostly metal workers, artist, and architects were the jobs they had. Next the Greeks settled their in many colonies around the Mediterranean Sea. They borrowed ideas from them such as religion beliefs, alphabet, much of their art, and military techniques and weaponry. The first people to settle there were the Latins they were descendants of Indo-Europeans
