Philosophers
Today in Western Civ we finished taking notes on the power point. The notes today were about different Philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. Socrates looked to science and logic for explanations of how the world works. He started the socratic method which fostered critical thinking. "The unexamined life into worth the living" was a famous quote of his. Socrates was charged with serious crimes, Disrespecting the Gods and corrupting the youth. He didn't deny what he had done. Instead, he asked for free meals for life instead. He was Sentenced to death by poison hemlock.
Plato wrote the apologia to Socrates' trial. He was a student and follower of socrates who wrote teachings and describes the trial in Apology.
Aristotle was a student of Plato. Aristotle helped foster the idea of Athens intellectual. His school was Lyceum. it was a place were all the information was.
He did not invent the internet. However he did want a place where everyone one could go to get all the answers they needed. Aristotle also tutored Alexander the Great.
