gods and goddesses
Today in class we continued more on the Ancient Greece powerpoint. The part we went over today we went over in class was about the greek gods and goddesses. Different from religions now the humans had relationships with the different gods. We learned about the main gods and a few of the other less important ones because there was so many. For example, our notes included Poseidon, Aphrodite,Dionysus, Apollo, Demeter. And of course Zeus and Athena. The different gods a patrons of certain thing such as music, love, wine, agriculture, the sea, and much more. Zeus was the ruler of heaven and earth, and god of the sky weather, thunder, lightning, law, order, and justice. He also was the father of Athena. She was born from Zeus' head fully formed and armored. Athena was the Goddess of wisdom, skill, warfare (and peace), intelligence, battle strategy, and handicrafts. She was a special patron of heroes like Odysseus. Lastly Athens was named after her.
