Today in western civ we had a test on the things we have been doing in class for the last week. I thought the text was difficult. Now we have to and read/ take notes from the text book about the birth place of the renaissance and luther leading the reformation.

Today in Human Geography class we identified important key terms and learned about Socrates, his life, and how he died. One of the key terms was agora. Agora is a public open space used for assemblies and markets. It was the center off athletic, artistic, spiritual, and political life in a city state. Another word was polis. Today in class we took more notes and we have a test Friday on the Renaissance and thats our big unit before the end of the year exams The Church is weakened and vulnerable. Here’s why. Philosophers

Today in Western Civ we finished taking notes on the power point. The notes today were about different Philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and  Aristotle. Socrates  looked to science and logic for explanations of how the world works. He started the socratic method which fostered critical thinking.  "The unexamined life into worth the living" was a famous quote of his. Socrates was charged with serious crimes, Disrespecting the Gods and corrupting the youth. He didn't deny what he had done. Instead, he asked for free meals for life instead. He was Sentenced to death by poison hemlock.  Plato wrote the apologia to Socrates' trial. He was a student and follower of socrates who wrote teachings and describes the trial in Apology.
